Pebbles In The Pond

This is one of those forced updates. I have been lost in code the last couple of days, working on a few other projects I’ve got coming up, and my return to the writing side of my brain is not a comfortable one.

However, the advice I’ve often given to people who don’t feel like writing sometimes is to do it anyway. So here I am. I’ve shown up at the page. I hope something readable comes out.

But hey, these funky, nonsensical updates are part of the deal, I guess. This is my space to do and say whatever I feel or think. You all read it because you like the way I do that. At least, I hope that’s the reason, and it’s not one of those morbid fascination things.

This is a space where I learn, develop my thoughts and beliefs, and practice. It’s not neat and tidy.

There are no happy endings. There are no rules. All the loose ends are never tied up.

But it’s real and honest, and that’s all I started out to do. Just to tell the truth. I felt deep down inside that simple honesty would be enough of a hook to make this more than a trip into obscurity.

Something bigger than me, bigger than you. An entity that is formed by the sharing of thoughts. When something in you responds to something I’ve written, it adds a little to the presence of this entity. It grows each time we make that connection.

It’s a big deal. But a very simple big deal.

I started this so I could touch your life. And by reading it, you have touched mine. The knowledge that you exist adds to my self-worth and positive opinion of myself and my talent. We have, in some small way, changed the world for each other.

That’s what it’s all about.
