JournalCon! – Day Three

This was the most enjoyable day yet, mainly because everyone seemed to feel pretty at ease, myself included. The atmosphere was relaxed, and a little tired, and perspective seemed to have finally arrived.

The panels I went to were good – Pamie was her entertaining self, and Javina and Lunesse did a fabulous job with the sex panel. Lunch, then readings and closing remarks, and we were done. I got to chat with a few people I mostly missed in the lobby afterward, and took yet more pictures, and I left the hotel around three, feeling good.

Shaie and I drove around San Francisco for the next couple of hours, which was cool. We went up and down the steepest hill I’ve ever seen – it was almost vertical. We drove down Lombard, which has a portion that is indescribably crooked. It literally zigzags, sharp left, sharp right, and so on, so it looks like a squiggle from afar.

I wish I could have gotten a good picture, but the right perspective never came, so I settled for a memory and a photo of the street sign. We drove over the Golden Gate bridge after that, and I was a bit unimpressed – for some reason, I just wanted it to be gold. Alas, it was rather orange, and well..it’s a bridge.

I know I’ve forgotten a million things, like the glitter that invaded JournalCon entirely, and the naked protester that walked down the street across from me, and the charming shops in Half Moon Bay, and on and on and on. But I’ll never forget this weekend, or the people I met, or the fun that was had by all. I’m looking forward to next year.
